Do you have a passion for high scale services and working with some of Microsoft’s most critical customers? The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) is looking for a Senior Program Manager, Data Governance with the right mix of security knowledge, data governance experience and passion for quality to design, deliver and manage strategic solutions for data usage and tracking within Microsoft Threat Intelligence. As a program manager focusing on data governance and use, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data governance framework, acquisition and provisioning of needed data sets and other tasks critical to the successful operation of MSTIC business. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers, and developers to understand data needs, define data standards, and ensure data quality and security. You will also participate in the development and implementation of data solutions that support our strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Work with data engineers, site reliability engineers and developers to define and document how data will be documented, stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data.

  • Drive development and maintenance of the strategic plan for data access requests of MSTIC, including managing data request processes and the internal tooling and systems necessary to use the data. Will serve as the single point of contact for security data access policy-related inquiries incoming to the team.

  • Drive development and maintenance of the operational plan for data privacy and compliance for MSTIC curated data, including areas such as GDPR, DMA, EUDB, and other compliance regimes within Microsoft and serving as the single point of contact for privacy and compliance related inquiries incoming to the team.

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, and databases.

  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders across teams to assess data requirements and costs and negotiate agreements with partners and system owners to align project delivery and data ownership.

  • Participate in development planning, build, implementation and operations of solutions.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers to create partnerships while understanding impact, satisfaction, and overall feedback.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements as these are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years experience in data architecture, data engineering, data governance, or related roles.

  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling, data integration, data quality, and data security tools and techniques

  • US security clearance desired, but not required.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
