The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more.

As a Director, Partner Development Management , you are expected to bring your strong work ethic, enthusiasm, optimism, and passion to drive significant growth and change within our partner ecosystem.   • Partner portfolio leadership and optimization - You will establish long-term partner recruitment strategies and expand current partnerships to create a balanced high-performance portfolio, grow business, and anticipate or fill market opportunities.

  • Strategic Vision and Value Partnering / Strategic Alignment - You will lead your team in the creation of a strategic vision, creating and executing business plans that ensure alignment between the overall value of Microsoft and the Partner’s business goals. You will coach and challenge your team to land the partner business plans with partner’s senior leadership.

  • Partner Sales Leadership - You will act as sales manager and coach the team through pipeline and opportunity management, following Microsoft internal sales methodology. You will build a rhythm of business to ensure sales execution with partners in collaboration with internal teams at Microsoft. You will coach teams through resolving blockers to accelerate sales and act as the escalation point for complex situations.

  • Market Insight and Business Opportunity - You will lead and challenge your team to identify top opportunities to pursue with partners incorporating your expertise, market insights, and deep knowledge of the competitive landscape ensuring your teams position Microsoft as the industry leader.

  • Executive Relationship Building - You will guide your team to develop deep relationships with complex partners and provide training and coaching to ensure your teams maintain an understanding of partner and Microsoft priorities and goals. You will be the executive sponsor for top partners and spend more than 50% of your time with partners and customers.

  • Career Development - You will be focused on the development of your team, leveraging resources to help employees grow skillsets, encourage mentorship, and support their career interests. You will be a workforce development and succession planning expert, identifying growth opportunities, building development plans with direct reports, and conducting development discussions.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years people management experience.

  • 5+ years of enterprise sales experience, building, managing, and growing technology partner ecosystem sales programs and organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related field AND 10+ years partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry

  • 5+ years people management experience

Partner Development Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.
