We are hiring a Principal Software Engineer with deep experience and expertise in designing and delivering solutions using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies. You will be working side-by-side with engineers to build innovative solutions for our big government sovereign environments. You will mentor and coach other engineers across our teams, sharing your expertise and learning from them, too.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on architecture, SDLC, testability, observability for the Sovereign Cloud Runtime teams.

• Mentor developers to increase overall team knowledge and velocity.

• Maintain disciplined software engineering practices.

• Review proposed designs, provide insights, and influence decisions to ensure a coherent software ecosystem.

• Design, code, and ship features for large scale distributed software services and solutions.

• Contribute to planning of team deliverables.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND Senior level technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud computing platforms.

• Solid service delivery experience including architecture, coding, and building online services.

• Experience with design and coding with a bias for architecture at scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills.

• Solid written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability and eagerness to work across and partner with multiple engineering teams to achieve business goals.

• Awareness & passion related to cloud scale monitoring and big-data analysis.

• Proven track record of delivering projects that include multiple components.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and PowerShell or other scripting technologies.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
