Come join the Azure Data Customer Advisory Team (CAT) as a Principal Program Manager and be an integral part of our customers’ business transformation using Microsoft’s Data and AI Platform.

We are looking for someone motivated to upskill our field, partners and customers in using PostgreSQL. On this team you will work closely with customers, partners, product managers, and sales teams to scale the knowledge for PostgreSQL. Your first area of responsibility will be building content and training through credentials and certifications. As you grow in that role, you will also work with customers to solve problems, educate on best practices, and collect and curate product feedback and ensure new usage of features.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Program Manager, you will:

  • Evangelize Azure Database for PostgreSQL in the field and community.

  • Build an insider community of PostgreSQL subject matter experts.

  • Work with the Microsoft field to help enterprise customers be successful with Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

  • Collect and curate customer feedback on features and functionality.

  • Contribute to Azure PostgreSQL Certifications and Credentials.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years experience with PostgreSQL.

  • 2+ years experience producing L300 and L400 content related to PostgreSQL.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Deep technical understanding of PostgreSQL systems and database management.

  • Proven face to face and virtual training skills.

  • Proven ability to learn complex technical topics quickly and to research and troubleshoot independently.

  • Contributor in the PostgreSQL community.

  • Experience working with sellers and product managers in the database space.

  • Experience as a database administrator, database developer or database consultant.

  • Experience with public speaking at technical conferences and events.

  • High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to gracefully navigate shifting priorities.

  • Thought leadership, communication skills in influencing customers and senior executives.

  • Embrace diversity of thoughts and backgrounds and lead others to do the same.

  • Good analytical problem-solving skills to address deeply complex problems and issues.

  • Solve problems by always leading with deep passion and empathy for customers.
