Microsoft Corporation Principal Product Manager  in Multiple Locations, Costa Rica

Semantic Fabric platform team is a global product team pursuing Microsoft's mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, by building deep intelligence in the products to help find the most relevant information, instantly, contextually, and more naturally that millions of people rely on for work and life every day to accomplish their goals.    

You will work independently and collaboratively with other product teams across Microsoft to build end-to-end rich search experiences with rich meta data extraction, semantic document understanding, building efficient and effective search index etc. You will formalize vision and frame roadmaps and feature specifications that leverage the vast expanse of data in M365 to enable contextual, personalized & intelligent productivity scenarios for the enterprise users. You will use your passion for collaboration to partner with global Product Engineering teams to inform planning and prioritization of products and features.

Responsibilities

In this role you will wear many hats including driving the definition and delivery of a world class workplace search experience for both end users and IT administrators alike. This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Define product vision and strategy, create scenarios that satisfy customer needs, accrue business outcomes and drive future product investments. 

  • Partner early and closely with M365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Bing, Office, SharePoint, Information protection) teams on alignment and visions for the experiences we build across the product to deliver on the customer promise of cohesiveness. 

  • Partnering with the engineering teams to develop experience and platform investments which align to product needs. 

  • Work with business planning and marketing teams for the GTM plan and find opportunities for growth and revenue of Microsoft Search. 

  • Define policies for the service including compliance, privacy, and risk management parameters to meet industry and company standards. 

  • Create scalable solutions that can be applied as a framework for solving multiple scenarios across different partners and customer topologies. 

  • Collect and synthesize customer feedback, translate into feature/product requirements, and influence teams drive with the engineering team. 

  • Be the customer advocate - present & validate new products and features to customers, empower admins to be the hero of their organization, assist with onboarding and deployment, and help them to troubleshoot and unblock issues. 

  • Be the evangelist - participate in enterprise conferences and industry events.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Familiarity and/or experience in metadata extraction, content enrichment, AI/ML and natural language technologies (NLP/NLG). 

  • Solid product leadership abilities with demonstrated strategic thinking and vision. 

  • Proven track record of delivering large scale enterprise solutions and services with huge business impact and customer first mindset. 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Good understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, cloud technologies and developer platforms. 

  • Solid technical acumen to drive design and architecture discussions with engineering teams focusing on end-to-end scenarios. 

  • Excellent ability to effectively define product, and functional specifications with strong definition of customer value and business impact while understanding the technical aspects. 

  • Excellent analytical, presentation, negotiation, and story-telling skills, and strong communication skills – verbal and writing. 

  • Strong ability to drive cross-functional teams, partners, and cross-org leadership teams. 

  • Experience working efficiently with and leverage internationally distributed development teams. 

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and drive for results.
