The Experiences and Platforms engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer II to help us build Game Pass experiences and bring new end-to-end features to the Xbox app for PC.
In your role, you will work with a diverse team of engineers, building experiences and infrastructure that drive growth in the PC ecosystem. We’re using React Native on Windows to enable cross-product code-sharing, and as an experience team, work with partners across Team Xbox up and down the stack to enable scenarios.
You will lead your feature crew to deliver features and codebase improvements on PC Xbox experiences. Your success requires that you work closely with your feature crew, product management, and design. As a technical leader, you will contribute to projects with meticulous execution, hold a high bar on quality, and partner with individuals on your team, providing a positive environment for technical and career growth.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible forfeature design and implementation, holding a high bar on quality and delivering your projects through meticulous execution. You build features yourself and work with other engineers to drive larger features and infrastructure improvements.
As a primary feature owner, you will ideate, scope, and drive implementation, validation, and health monitoring.
Your time will be balanced implementing new features and contributing to a product infrastructure area like performance, reliability, accessibility, shared libraries, telemetry.
Build real-time data monitoring and alerting signals to monitor the health of features you ship to know when critical errors happen and when critical dependencies fail.
Curiosity to understand what excites our existing user base and what motivates new users to use our products is part of the job: we own the end-to-end experience. Identify an MVP, implement, flight to a target set of users, collect data from flight audiences, iterate, pivot, and repeat – this is the DNA of our development culture.
Qualifications
Required:
4+ years of professional software development experience building end-user applications
Excellent design and coding skills in C++ or JavaScript
Experience shipping consumer features and track record of driving code design for multiple feature areas
Advanced English level
Preferred:
Experience building subscription or gaming-related user experiences on PC or Mobile
ReactJS or React Native Windows development experience
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
