The Xbox Experiences and Platform Commerce (XPC) group is responsible for helping those gamers discover and acquire digital game content, as well as ensuring that developers and publishers have low friction access to our ecosystem. We work closely with teams across Xbox, as well as both internal and external game studios. We’re always striving to find new and innovative ways of incorporating the latest in design patterns, web technologies, and machine learning to create better experiences.

Our engineering team is on the lookout for a full-stack engineer who excels across the entire stack, from infrastructure to API services and frontend development. We are particularly interested in someone who has a true passion for crafting exceptional web experiences. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that will shape the future of gaming and have a significant impact on how game creators can be successful on our platform.

Responsibilities

• As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for feature design and implementation, holding a high bar on quality and delivering your projects through meticulous execution. You build features yourself and work with other engineers to drive features and engineering excellence improvements. 

• As a primary feature owner, you will ideate, scope, and drive implementation, validation, and health monitoring.  

• Your time will be balanced implementing new features and Engineering Excellence, contributing to our Xbox Mobile Store infrastructure area like security, performance, reliability, accessibility, shared libraries, telemetry, and more.

• Build real-time data monitoring and alerting signals to monitor the health of features you ship to know when critical errors happen and when critical dependencies fail. 

• Solve complex problems that allow for innovative features across multiple devices and services.

• You will be an active participant in a community of creativity, inclusion, and respect.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of experience delivering quality web applications in a fast-paced environment

• 3+ years building Web applications using modern front-end and CSS frameworks.

• Strong understanding of modern CSS and responsive website design.

• Understanding data structures, algorithms, threading, synchronization.

• You are an ambitious teammate who is passionate about learning, sharing knowledge, and making your teammates successful.

• You are creative and have strong design, development, and collaboration skills.

• 2+ years of experience with one of more of React.js, Next.js, Node.js, ASP.Net Core, TypeScript

• Advanced English level

Preferred

• Experience with C# OR Java

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, services, and cloud storage technologies.

• Familiarity with containerization and one or more of Azure, AWS or GCP.

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).

• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and creativity in unfamiliar domains to overcome challenges and deliver impactful outcomes.
