The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst participates in requirement meetings and functional design document review meetings to understand requirements for test case authoring, working closely with business analysts and business stakeholders to clarify requirements. They prepare project test plans and test closure documents according to standard templates, adhering to DTMB and MDOT policies, standards, and guidelines. The QA Analyst learns new tools identified for use on projects and prepares test scenarios based on project needs. They also prepare test data and ensure the QA environment is ready for test case execution, including interfaces. Responsibilities include preparing and executing test cases, maintaining user story traceability against the user stories/requirements, and managing defects, including identification and remediation tracking. The QA Analyst prepares and ensures sprint sign-off after each sprint or as required, obtaining sign-off from product owners. They assist UX/UI Designers in adding defects or raising defects in their absence, work closely with QA Specialists on complex projects and unique deliverables, adhere to all QA processes and procedures, and ensure all QA responsible SEM documents identified for the project are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with area processes.

The required skillsets for this position include 7 years of experience in quality assurance and software testing, with a thorough understanding of testing concepts and methods in both manual and automation testing. The candidate should have 5 years of experience in testing within Agile and Waterfall development projects and in writing and documenting test cases in DevOps or other Agile tools. They should also have 7 years of experience testing Java-based applications and Oracle databases, developing Agile testing strategies and test plans for multiple related projects, and reviewing, understanding, and translating Agile user stories to prepare test cases/scripts. Additionally, the candidate should have 7 years of experience working independently and in a team environment. Nice-to-have skillsets include 5 years of experience in writing test scripts with automation tools and coordinating Agile automated testing with QA and development teams, as well as 2 years of experience in coding with Java to write test automation scripts with Selenium.
