As Benefits Specialist you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:
Determines eligibility for both full-time and part-time team-members through the regular monitoring of service requirements and review of dependent eligibility documentation.
Collaborate with the HR team to manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Ensures that all benefits enrollment materials are distributed to newly eligible team members in a timely manner to facilitate their enrollment.
Ensures accurate tracking of hours worked for Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance, as well as compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) in place and their stated benefit eligibility provisions.
Stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to employee benefits, ensuring company-wide compliance, and recommending policy adjustments, as necessary.
Responds to all benefit inquiries from team members and company leaders on plan provisions, benefits enrollment, status changes and other general inquiries ensuring promptness, courtesy, and accuracy always.
Ensures the accuracy of all team members’ benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
Performs other related activities, assignments, duties, and projects as assigned.
What is Required?
Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
2+ years relevant experience in the administration of competitive health and welfare benefits plan for hourly and salaried team members in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
Experience within a Home Health or Hospice environment is preferred.
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Professional of Human Resources (PHR) is preferred.
Knowledge of HRIS systems (i.e., Workday, UltiPro or similar) is required.
Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) is required.
Understanding of relevant tax laws, Section 125 flexible benefit plan administration, 401(k) plans, FMLA, ADA and HIPAA are required.
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
You will report to the Benefits Supervisor.
