This position provides oversight for the operations of the College's Laker Cafe, including cash register operation, cash drawer maintenance, daily deposit preparation, ordering inventory and supplies, and food preparation. Utilizes appropriate software to update pricing and track inventory.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees College Laker Café operations. Manages cleaning protocols and monitors/reports on appropriate maintenance of appliances.
  2. Operates cash register, keeps cash drawer supplied with appropriate amount of change, posts credit card sales, prepares and forwards daily cash deposits to the College Accounting Department.
  3. Prepares daily food menu such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, and specials, when appropriate.
  4. Places all food orders and/or shops locally for food items necessary for operations. Maintains all menus for the College's Laker café.
  5. Creates and maintains cost-effective pricing for all beverage and food items.
  6. Performs annual inventory for the College Laker Cafe.
  7. Trains, schedules, and supervises student workers as needed.
  8. Maintains catering menu for limited in-house catering and accommodates catering requests to the extent possible with existing staffing.
  9. Provides attentive and friendly customer service to various constituents. Addresses and resolves customer service issues in a timely and effective manner.
  10. To improve the efficiency of the Laker Café, assists in the development and implementation of departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and standards; recommends changes to departmental procedures, as appropriate.
  11. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies and procedures, and compliance guidelines.
  12. Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
