The athletic Assistant Coach is responsible for all aspects of operation and team management including recruitment, training, coaching, and retention of quality student-athletes. The Assistant Coach must guide, develop, and provide leadership in all functions of an effective program. The primary focus is on safety and the academic success of our student-athletes while teaching clay target shooting and incorporating qualities that will create responsible citizens that represent the College positively. The Assistant Coach follows rules and guidelines in accordance with USA Clay Target, NJCAA and MCCAA, develops preliminary travel and equipment needs. In support of the Department, the Coach is responsible for the proper use of a Mid's company card and promptly submits accurate expense information and receipts.

The position requires analysis, attention to detail, responsible judgment, decisiveness, initiative, planning and organization, persuasiveness, effective oral and written communication, organizational skills, self-reliance, sensitivity, stress tolerance, commitment to the College, dependability, and a teamwork mentality. The Assistant Coach is responsible for all aspects of operation and team management including recruitment, training, coaching, and retention of quality student-athletes.

Responsibilities:

Provides leadership; organizes, directs and administers all aspects of the program

Identifies, evaluates and recruits academically-prepared students in accordance with College policies, MCCAA, NJCAA, and other organizations and regulations as applicable

Supervises and evaluates assistant coaches and staff

Provides mentoring and academic oversight of student athletes to promote retention and completion

Encourages and nurtures success among student athletes in the areas of citizenship, academics, and athletics

Instructs players on rules, regulations, use of equipment, strategies, and proper technique

Organizes and manages quality practices and competitions on a reasonable schedule

Determines and implements game strategies

Responsible for the safety and conduct of the team while maintaining the highest degree of integrity

Provides leadership for the team and displays good sportsmanship toward players, opponents, officials, and spectators

Maintains and monitors equipment

Leads and participates in efforts to raise funds for the Mid athletic programs

Maintains fiscal responsibility and integrity including proper use of College credit card and submitting accurate expense information and receipts

Participates in community, campus, and athletic initiatives when appropriate

Supports and initiates campus and community engagement

Timely submission of all required requests/paperwork

Support and serve as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines.

Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Off
