Intuit Senior MLE in Mountain View, California

Overview

The AI Research team at Intuit is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to build and scale our latest algorithms through efficient code and optimizations that will lead to successful tech transfers of the latest research innovations to products. We expect the Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to all steps of the research and development lifecycle: from conceptualization, to applied research, experimentation set up, engineering for optimized inference, end-to-end system development and deployment in various capacities. As an MLE on the team, you will interact with AI researchers and data scientists within the team, as well as our partners in the product teams to define, analyze, implement and deploy highly optimized algorithms in generative AI, uncertainty quantification, reinforcement learning, recommendation systems, and natural language understanding.

What you'll bring

  • Strong computer science fundamentals – academic foundation of programming, algorithms and data structures, computational complexity, parallel and distributed computing, system software.

  • Software engineering fundamentals – version control systems, ability to write high-quality production-ready code with appropriate tests, experience with integrating applications, packaging and deploying services using Docker containers and leveraging cloud technologies

  • Deep understanding of AI model development lifecycle

  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn

  • Basic understanding of modern techniques in Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, and Optimization

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a dynamic and distributed team

  • A desire to constantly grow and learn new things

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience

How you will lead

  • Collaborate with research scientists and data scientists to innovate in relevant topics to develop advanced capabilities that serve our customers’ needs, both current and future

  • Set up large scale research and experimentation infrastructure pipelines

  • Develop our latest algorithms and research innovations into scalable and reusable self-serve components, libraries and tools

  • Conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of machine learning models and algorithms using appropriate metrics, and quickly iterate on improvements

  • Work with product teams across Intuit to ensure seamless integration of the software we develop
