Google Senior Interaction Designer, AI Innovation and Research in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of experience in product design or UX.

  • Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.

  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX.

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization and 2 years of experience leading design projects

  • Experience in consumer electronics or mobile devices.

  • Experience in conversational design.

  • Familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (e.g., Android and iOS).

In this role, you will be partnering with researchers across Alphabet teams across Platforms and Devices (P&D) to develop and enhance key emerging AI capabilities critical to P&D products, design and experiment with new applications and step-change user experiences in partnership with teams across P&D, and help launch novel experiences and capabilities in production.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to develop groundbreaking applications of Large Language Model (LLM) technology through intuitive interface designs.

  • Contribute and advocate for UX product strategy, design standards, and a consistent design language across Google.

  • Foster a user-centric design culture, values, and principles within the group and across the broader organization to elevate the overall craft.

  • Work closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to grasp requirements and deliver creative and thoughtful solutions.

  • Deliver high-quality design solutions that account for organizational and technical constraints.
