Intuit Senior Design Technologist in Mountain View, California

The Intuit Design System (IDS) is a company-wide design system that accelerates Intuit’s mission by delivering innovative and foundational design system guidelines, tools, and services that support Intuit designers and developers across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mailchimp, Credit Karma, and many other Intuit offerings.

To help us achieve this, we are seeking a Senior Design Technologist to help form a new team focused on establishing an AI-powered Design Platform. In this role, you'll be a founding member of a small team of design technologists that will deliver a curated set of tools and experiences that will accelerate the function of design with artificial intelligence.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

  • Min 5 years of hybrid design and code experience, working with both designers and developers

  • Deep experience working in frontend web technologies (HTML, CSS, React/TS)

  • Experience working with design systems, data, and AI technologies.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence within the design system team and with other teams adopting our design system

  • Strong knowledge of accessibility both in design and code

  • Strong experience with Agile development methodologies and related software and tools to keep organized

  • Thorough understanding of the creative development processes and product development lifecycle

  • Proven track record of delivery and shipping reusable or componentized code (preferred)

  • An infectious optimism, zest for design and design systems, and a passion for helping bring great, cohesive customer experience to market!

How you will lead

  • Deliver a target set of AI-accelerated design tools through deep technical analysis, experimentation with customers, and thoughtful data gathering.

  • Identify customer problems, define success metrics, prototype and test solutions, and assist in the final delivery of the solution to our customers.

  • Design and develop in-house solutions for our design platform using Intuit’s unique data and AI capabilities.

  • Integrate 3rd party tools into our design platform (e.g. Figma plugins) and securely integrate Intuit Design System data with 3rd party tools.

  • Participate in the build/buy/partner analysis and help make recommendations on solutions that will augment our design platform.

  • Expertly craft stakeholder and customer communications to promote and advocate for adoption of our AI-accelerated design platform.

  • Advocate for design tool adoption throughout the company, acting as a subject matter expert to designers and developers utilizing these new tools.
