Microsoft Corporation Senior Business Planner in Mountain View, California

Microsoft’s Monetization and Business Planning organization directs our commercial product portfolio’s pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies. Few teams exist that have such a direct impact on Microsoft and the entire industry.

As a Senior Business Planner focused on Licensing Strategy , you will be at the forefront of how Microsoft defines, enables, markets, and lands commercial licensing strategies. Especially important is how Microsoft’s customers, field, and partners consume our licensing policies . We are looking for someone to lead the vision, strategy, and implementation of how Microsoft’s licensing policies and terms are shared and communicated to audiences, including leading our generative AI initiatives to enhance audience experiences with Microsoft licensing.

Responsibilities

In this role, some of the initiatives you’ll work on include:

  • Evolving our vision, strategy, and execution for how Microsoft’s licensing is organized, presented, and communicated to our customers, field, and partners.

  • Identifying and leading initiatives to leverage generative AI to modernize and enhance audience experiences with Microsoft licensing.

  • Developing and implementing strategies to better organize licensing content, making it more discoverable, searchable, and accessible through UX design.

  • Engaging directly with senior executives and other stakeholders to get feedback and adjusting licensing designs.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years product management, product marketing, UX design or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience

  • Experience in creating, organizing, and managing the delivery of licensing or equally complexpolicy content

  • Understanding of software/technology industry licensing concepts, monetization, and approaches

  • Experience leading and coordinating project teams to deliver on internal tools development, including articulating business requirements, use cases, scenarios, business processes, and workflows

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to develop tight, collaborative relationships in an efficient and iterative manner

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years product management, product marketing, UX design or related experience or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field

  • OR 6+ years product management, product marketing, UX design or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Juris Doctor (JD) or related field

  • OR equivalent experience

  • Experiencein content creation and content management strategies to train Large Language Models

  • Understanding of Microsoft licensing and commercial agreements

Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
