Job Description

This role offers a hybrid work option, meaning you can both work from home and commute to a LinkedIn office, depending on what’s best for you and when it is important for your team to be together. This is a hybrid position based out of our Sunnyvale, CA Headquarters.

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Data Center Engineering, Construction, and Operations. In this role, you will lead the design, construction, and operation of our data centers. You will manage a cross-functional team and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, design, and construction of new data center facilities, as well as the expansion and upgrade of existing facilities, while ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Oversee all aspects of data center operations, including power and cooling systems, network infrastructure, physical security, and environmental controls, to ensure optimal performance, availability, and efficiency.

Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all data center facilities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives related to data center operations and infrastructure.

Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.

Develop and manage budgets for data center construction, maintenance, and operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.

Monitor and evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data center design, construction, and operations to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

-10+ years of experience in data center engineering, construction, and operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Preferred qualifications

-In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, network architecture, and physical security.

-Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale data center construction projects and operations.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $174,000 to $286,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, stock, and benefits.
