Harbor Wholesale Territory Manager - Bellingham/Skagit/Islands in Mount Vernon, Washington

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) is designated as the primary driver for bringing new customers to Harbor Wholesale Foods within their assigned region. Responsibilities are to grow and develop new business sales by securing new customer purchases in their region. Territory is Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties. This includes ferry travel to the San Juan islands. There are no overnight stays per his daily route. There will be overnight stays for some of the Harbor Sales meetings. This is such a cool and unique route! Must live centrally located within territory. Reports to: Regional Sales Manager. Knowledge and sales experience within the convenience store, DSD, wholesale or retail field sales industry a must.

*Compensation: *A combination of base + commission/bonus is $65-100K first year. All travel, ferry, gas and mileage is paid; corporate credit card program.

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Develop strong relationships with key and chain customers
  • Overall performance versus goals and objectives within the assigned territory
  • Identify and convert top retailers within assigned region
  • Exceed monthly objectives
  • Relationship building is a key contributor to the success of the TSM. Being able to develop and take relationships to the next level is critical.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Effective and proven negotiation skills are a must.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others effectively, in a tactful and professional manner.
  • TSM must be a team player, with an ability to solve complex problems working with a team of peers at Harbor Wholesale.
  • The position requires the ability to conduct business while on the road using mobile technology.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, reliable and presentable transportation and required insurance.
  • Knowledge of Territory. Must live centrally located within territory.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years sales experience with a proven and successful track record.
