Veterinarian, DVM

Location: Mount Uniacke, NS

Schedules: Flexible, Full-time, Part-time

Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital is growing and welcomes another Veterinarian, DVM to join us! Our new hospital in beautiful Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia opened in April 2024, and is nestled just 10 minutes from Sackville, and 25 minutes from the Valley. Having proximity to nearby vet care emergency hospitals, we enjoy no on-calls, no overnights or Sundays/ holidays! With our diverse and collaborative team, new veterinarians are welcome to apply and will be supported along their career growth.

• A valid veterinarian license allowing practice in Canada

• Experience in; soft tissue surgical procedures, preventative care, and offering nutritional advice.

• Dedicated to promoting team-based medicine practices

• Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, pet parents, and community

• A passion for coaching and mentoring students along their DVM journey

• An interest in attending conferences and networking with colleagues

About us: Our primary focus is on prevention and education, offering individually tailored care to our patients and their families. We are part of a family of 6 VCA Canada hospitals within HRM. This provides us a large network of DVMs and team members who work together to collaborate, share experiences, generate ideas and support one another whenever needed. We have a formal onboarding/training process as well as regular upskilling sessions, internal wet labs and 1:1 surgical training as needed (ex. large dog spays, dental wet labs). Our brand-new hospital will be fully equipped with anything you need to provide excellent medical care. Digital everything, full lab equipment, all monitoring and safety equipment, paperless record keeping, references and support materials. Plus, our hospital will be feline friendly, have a spacious footprint, 6 exam rooms, multiple surgical/procedures suites, separate cat and dog wards and lots of extra space that makes working just that little bit easier when you have room to move!
