Position Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP ) Division in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD ) at Central Michigan University (CMU ) seeks to fill a full-time, 10-month tenure-track open rank faculty member position beginning August 2025. The qualified candidate will join a robust SLP program that is committed to student success. The faculty member will engage in research/scholarly activity, teaching, and service, and will provide clinical supervision within the Carls Center for Clinical Care and Education.

The CMU Department of CSD , located in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, contains three academic divisions (SLP , Audiology, and American Sign Language) and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, and certificates. Required Qualifications:

• Terminal doctorate degree in a relevant field; ABD considered if degree will be completed by the start of appointment. • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology. • Michigan SLP license or eligibility. • All areas of SLP expertise will be considered, although preference may be given to the following areas: speech sound disorders, speech science, social aspects of communication, cognitive aspects of communication. • Demonstrated commitment to diversity. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Earned PhD. in speech-language pathology or relevant field. • Clinical supervision experience. • Experience teaching at the university level. • Experience or demonstrated interest in securing extramural grants and contracts. • Demonstrated research agenda based on published works and/or external funding. • Evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations.
