Position Summary:
Under the supervision of AWARE Project Coordinator/SCIT Community Project Manager, develop and implement daily operations of the Project AWARE program within the Shepherd or Mt. Pleasant school system and surrounding community as a member of the Project AWARE Team. All education staff must adhere to mandated reporting laws. This is a grant funded position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with other Project AWARE staff and public schools to coordinate strategic planning process.
Work as a bridge between school staff, parents and health care providers to ensure adequate mental health services are provided to student`s in need, including assistance with insurance or Medicaid enrollment.
Develop, organize and implement mental health trainings.
Develop and implement meaningful, evidence-based community education on mental health.
Develop and implement Project AWARE quarterly community events, meetings, local school board presentations and other relevant agency presentations in the community.
Develop and establish MOU`s, policies and procedures with local mental health providers and youth serving organizations for delivery of effective mental health services.
Develop and coordinate community resources and collaborative partnerships.
Develop and coordinate community outreach campaigns, strategies and education.
Develop processes for effective case file and documentation practices for implementation in schools.
Develop and implement program promotion strategies inclusive of positive public relations and publication of program accomplishments.
Complete collection and submission of all community data, inclusive of the development of data collection tools, according to Project AWARE required grant measures.
Manage line item budget to stay within confines of approved grant budget.
