Lockheed Martin Lead Systems Engineer in Mount Laurel, New Jersey

At Lockheed Martin's RMS business in Mount Laurel, NJ, we are working on many exciting defense programs and developing cutting edge products and applications to meet the complex and evolving needs of our customers. A major portion of our work includes writing robust software and firmware applications and doing some very impressive modeling and simulations for these exciting and mission critical programs. We are currently looking to fill roles on the Mission Planner DevSecOps Engineering Team.

The Work

We are seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers to support multiple Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) programs and participate in all phases of the systems engineering process (system design, requirements development, modeling and simulation and test). The engineer will leverage RMS systems engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective engineering and verification activities.

In this important role, you will collaborate in an Agile environment with other engineering disciplines and program personnel. A desire to learn and adopt emerging technologies and tools will be key to success in this role.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

- Gathering requirements, defining system functionality and developing system requirements

- Developing and executing test plans and procedures

- Troubleshooting, debugging and identifying solutions for system capabilities

- Taking ownership for increasingly difficult tasks, completing them on schedule, documenting results, and leading demonstrations

- Supporting the development and work breakdown of new complex design problems to be implemented in software applications across multiple software versions

Basic Qualifications:

*Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position*

- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineer, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical field

- Experience with system design/test, requirements management, or system verification & validation

- Strong customer focus with proven ability to drive complex technical issues/challenges to closure

- Expereince working in a team environment and independently

- Minimum years of 9 years of relevant engineering experience

Desired Skills:

- Master’s degree in Systems Engineer, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related STEM field

- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills

- Experience with an Agile framework or Atlassian tools such as Jira or Confluence

- Experience working in a DevSecOps environment

- Intimate experience with engineering tools such as MATLAB, DOORS, Git or Cameo

- Familiarity or interest in Model-Based Systems Engineering solutions

- Experience with Service Oriented or Web-based architectures

- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers of multiple disciplines

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
