General Description. An Accounts Receivable Clerk is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs any combination of the duties described more fully, below. An Accounting Clerk typically performs a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates.

Key Duties

This position within the Accounting Department at Hubbard Construction Company will provide A/R support for our Mid Florida Materials division. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ensure timely submission of invoices weekly to our customers

  • Resolve customer billing problems, requests for invoices, ticket copies, or statements

  • Make outbound collection calls/emails for assigned accounts as necessary

  • Post daily incoming payments and submit deposit documentation to central accounting team

  • Attend weekly A/R meetings

  • Generate reports and statements for internal use

  • Reconciliation for Month-end Closing Process

  • Proficiency with MS 365 to include Outlook, Word and Excel

  • High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability

  • Excellent communication, research, and problem-solving skills

  • Business casual and conservative attire

  • Other office duties as assigned and requested

    Qualification Requirements

  • Education and Experience. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. Two (2) year of office related duties and experience.

  • Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the construction arena to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Frequent ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;

  • Frequent ability to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone;

  • Frequent ability to operate standard office equipment, using hand and arm dexterity;

  • Frequent vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Infrequent ability to navigate through office environment, including periodic use of stairs and/or elevator, as needed;

  • Infrequent ability to lift general office documents and materials, up to 10 pounds

  • Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the construction arena encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Work is performed predominately indoors.

  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to elevated levels of noise, and dust that is typically associated with a construction debris landfill.
