A Day in the Life

As a Senior Test Engineer within the Mechanical Produce Engineering Team, you will be part of the Cardiac Rhythm Management Operating Unit. You will be responsible for test characterization, device validation testing, and reliability testing for lead, catheters, and devices for new product development. You will work closely and collaboratively with Product Design, Reliability, Regulatory, Operations, and Sourcing colleagues to evaluate designs.

This is an office-based role which does not allow for a hybrid or remote capacity.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.

• Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.

• Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.

• Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.

• Supports CAPA’s (Corrective & Preventive Actions) & RPI’s (Released Product Investigations).

• Collaborates with Reliability and Manufacturing partners to determine and execute appropriate tests/assessments to evaluate supplier, process, material, design, component, or use-condition changes prior to implementation.

• Collaborates with Reliability, Manufacturing, Materials, R&D, and Safety Engineering to investigate product performance issues/returned product analysis to identify root cause(s) and implement corrective action(s).

Must Have: Minimum Requirements (To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume):

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering required.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of experience.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the Medical Device Industry, specifically with troubleshooting Cardiac Rhythm Management products.

• Ability to work well under moderate pressure and maintain a positive, service-oriented quality focused attitude.

• Experience working individually, in a group, across functions, and with manufacturing partners and or physician / customer partners.

• Proficient in writing test protocols and test reports.

• Experience in coding, scripting, and/or advanced data analysis methods.

• Experienced with FDA and ISO medical device standards.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Team player who works effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.  Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):115,000

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
