As the Engineering Program Manager for the Patient and Field Services Team, you will provide innovation updates, maintenance, and operational leadership for the released product monitor accessory portfolio.

In this role you will manage all aspects of product lifecycle management including hardware and firmware updates, security updates, complaints, CAPAs, RPIs and customer experience improvements. To be successful you will need to provide leadership to three large cross functional teams to ensure that defined business objectives can be met and that as issues and/or opportunities are identified that the teams and organization have aligned priorities.

About Patient Field Services:

Once a patient receives an implanted cardiac device, the care doesnt stop there. Its only the beginning of a long-term relationship that the patient establishes with the provider. Staying connected to cardiac device patients is critical. However, we know thats difficult- given the demands physicians face every day. At Medtronic, our goal is to provide physicians with tools that simplify how cardiac device patients are managed and help give the insight needed to make better, faster decisions- so patients health can be restored.

In Patient and Field Services we are responsible for supporting the Patient and Clinician through:

Strategic Programs that leverage platforms that bring global focused execution that deliver cost down, platform adoption and service transformation

Service Delivery to optimize patient and clinician experience through value added services

Product and Portfolio Support for the released Remote Monitoring Product Portfolio

A Day in the Life

  • Lead three product platform cross functional Core Teams that manage end to end platform lifecycle management. Activities include: Ideation development of features that improve Customer Experience, feature enhancements, security updates, product localization and ongoing maintenance including connectivity.

  • Work with business leaders to define and create a prioritized plan to meet PFS Business Objectives including technology updates, lifecycle management and issue resolution required to support the monitor and accessory portfolio.

  • Perform overall project planning including program strategy alignment, requirements definition, detailed schedule creation, risk identification management, issue resolution, management of project budget/expenses and communication/program status.

  • Manage project/program execution including staffing to deliver solutions on time, on budget, and with a high degree of quality.

  • Leverage the Quality System and Design Controls to define and execute the work.

  • Collaborate with Released Product Engineering, Development, Operations, Regulatory, Marketing and Quality to release maintenance updates to global contract manufactures and coordinate product launch with global marketing partners.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • Masters Degree and/or work experience in the medical device or life sciences fields

  • Experience working in product development, in a regulated environment and/or working knowledge of FDA Design Controls

  • Experience working across a highly matrixed environment and ability to lead by influence.

  • Experience managing large cross functional teams

  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools

  • Strong interpersonal, quantitative analysis, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate complex problems to all levels of the organization
