Date Posted: 3/31/2023 Job Code: MA3830 City: Motley State: MN Country: United States of America Category: Service Summary: The PLC Control Technician will provide support and troubleshooting for Trident's new and existing automated processing equipment: Essential Functions: Inspects existing automated equipment and assesses performance in relation to standards. Troubleshoots issues and insufficiencies in performance and guides or performs adjustments Advises management regarding equipment performance, and suggestions for equipment and process improvements. Confers with vendors, supervisor, and other technical workers to assist with equipment installation, maintenance and repair techniques Enters information into computer to copy program or to draw, modify, or store schematics, applying knowledge of software package used. Assists with implemntation and/or monitoring of SOP's and ensures locatoinstaff is trained to standards. . Converses with equipment operators to ascertain whether mechanical or human error contributed to equipment breakdown. Studies blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures. Operates equipment to demonstrate use of equipment and to analyze malfunctions. Determines feasibility of using standardized equipment, and develops specifications for equipment required to perform additional functions. Acquiresworking knowledge of Trident's warehouse management system (EAM) including the requisition and asset management experience. Additional Responsibilities: Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings Minimum Qualifications: Experience with Allen Bradley PLCS (500, 5000, Studio, Factory Talk View HMI, Power Flex) Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate process measurement equipment (4-20ma, 0-10v) Experience calibrating weighing systems Ability to adapt current PLC systems to changing plant needs Basic network troubleshooting (Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP IP) Robotic experience a plus(Kuka, FANUC) Education: Heavy industrial automation experience or a combination of formal training and related experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Allen Bradley PLC certification preferred Experience: Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming. Special Training/Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software. Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, vibration and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or ba ance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Mental Activities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use interpersonal and decision-makingskills, as well as utilize teamwork, creativity, independent judgment, and discretion. Problem analysis, basic and advanced programming, and advanced math are also utilized on a regular basis. The employee will occasionally teach and conduct presentations; as well as provide mentoring, training, and supervision.
