We have an exciting Senior FP&A Manager role open within Caterpillar’s finance organization supporting the Resource Industries Supply Management (RISM) team. In this role, you will be an essential business partner and advisor to the Vice President of Procurement within RISM. You will manage a team of approximately 5 accounting and finance professionals, both in the U.S. and in India, and will provide financial leadership to procurement, engineering and finance teams.
You and your team will support a global organization of approximately 400 procurement professionals with responsibilities for enterprise procurement of steel, electronics and hydraulics, plus specific support of all other procurement required for Resource Industries (RI) product lines. This role is a business partner to multiple procurement categories in the areas of compliance, governance, analysis of forecasting/actuals, supplier viability & resiliency. This is a great opportunity to support management of global sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and execution of the division's procurement strategy, in support of enterprise profitability and services growth objectives.
What You Will Do:
Responsibility for analysis of actual results of material cost as well as forecasting of RI’s material cost into future periods. You will also work with a team of purchasing professionals to track material cost reduction initiatives and their impact on RI’s results.
Support the digital strategy of both RISM and RI by deploying advance analytics tools across our teams.
Support transformation projects led by the Global Finance Services Organization and the Strategic Procurement and Planning Division.
Maintain a strong internal control environment for procurement and support internal audit engagements and remediation.
Set expectations and strategic direction/goals of the team.
Train/develop skills of staff and provide career coaching and guidance.
Lead staff in the maintenance and continuous enhancement of financial reporting.
What You Have:
Business Acumen : Extensive knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Finance and Accounting: Expert knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Organizational Governance: Knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies.
Strategic Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
Leadership: Extensive knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Financial Analysis: Expert knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Extensive knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Bachelor's degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Progressive Accounting or Finance experience, including cost accounting and budget development
CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred
Previous experience supporting manufacturing operations
