BUNZL Sr Software Engineer in Morton Grove, Illinois

The Senior Software Engineer at Bunzl Distribution will be designing, developing, testing, and implementing software solutions to build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software. The role of the Senior Software Engineer will be involved in gathering software requirements and steering activities of the development team. The overall goal of the Senior Software Engineer will be to derive and to manage technology solutions and achieve results.


  • Develop and lead implementation of complex software and solutions according to business requirements.

  • Collaborate with other developers to determine the optimal solution to ensure application efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.

  • Use industry standards and best practices to deliver quality solutions.

  • Mentor and provide guidance on technical issues to less experienced team members.

  • Ability to self-manage and complete projects/tasks on a timely basis, according to commitments made to stakeholders and management.


  • A bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent degree.

  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with C#, ASP.Net, MVC, and SQL Server.

  • 2+ years of experience in RESTful API development.

  • Familiarity with ETL & ELT tools and procedures such as PowerBI.

  • Experience in integrating with ERP Systems such as iSeries AS400 platform is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience in Agile software development methodology.

  • Experience with E-Commerce platform, Product Information Management is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Azure is desired.

  • Knowledge of distributed systems that are built on microservices and event driven architecture is desired.

  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

  • Ability to complete tasks with a high level of autonomy.
