BUNZL Product Content Manager in Morton Grove, Illinois


The Content Manager position is responsible for the development of rich data assets and dissemination of information that accelerate profitable growth through digital efforts. In collaboration with the VP of eCommerce and Sr. Manager of Product Information, this individual will be responsible for leveraging data attributes, industry insights, and creative processes in the development of rich product and digital content, that allows the organization to build differentiated assets in the marketplaces we compete. This position is also responsible for translating multiple channel’s needs and ensuring that product information collected meets our customers’ diverse requirements.

  • Evaluate multiple channel requirements and in collaboration with the Sr. Product Information Manager, ensure that data collection efforts meet the foundational requirements for content development.

  • Development of rich product content that allows the organization to merchandise products to various channels.

  • Development of rich product attributes and standards for rich content. This includes but is not limited to creative product descriptions, images, video content, etc.

  • Development of digital marketing campaigns and assets aligned with growth efforts.

  • Managing rich product information with our Product Information Management system that management system which includes creative content that expands product-related attributes.

  • Management and interface with internal and external customers in the development and expansion of extended product information.

  • Oversight and content syndication requirements for internal and external customers.

  • This position requires collaboration within Master Data as well as with regulatory, marketing, eCommerce, R&D and Sales.

  • Respond to both internal and external requests for product-related data and assist with the prioritization effort

  • Proactively work with sales, with an understanding of data impact and data transformation

  • Communicate and coordinate internally any changes or upcoming initiatives that will require additional data governance, data validation, or process improvements.

  • Manage a team of Content Coordinators through the gathering of manufacturer product data working directly and indirectly with the manufacturer and third-party platforms,

  • Edit product listings via spreadsheets, import and manual processes in a database environment.

  • Perform de-dup and v-lookup excel functions.

  • Request and publish product content from 100 + suppliers in compliance with GS1 standards, in addition to expanded attributes and categories.

  • Create and Merchandise content through enrichment processes and best practices.

  • This position will report to the Sr. Digital Marketing Manager, working closely with Product and Category Managers.


  • 3-5 years of Product Information Management and syndication experience. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising or equivalent work experience required.

  • Motivated self-starter with the interpersonal skills required to work with others in a collaborative environment.

  • Previous experience with Product Information Management (PIM) software inRiver or comparative PIM and data syndication provider.

  • Expert in creative with experience in developing and managing digital assets.

  • Strong business acumen and experience in business writing to include a strong command of grammar and punctuation.

  • Knowledge of taxonomy and schema best practices for 100,000+ SKUs

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365

  • Must possess strong communication, planning, organizational, and time management skills

  • Ability to work as a team and semi-independently with direction

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Desire to work cross-functional.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

  • Supervisory and management experience with a bias towards building strong collaborative teams.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
