The Sales Operations Manager’s (SOM) primary responsibilities are to provide leadership and performance management, inclusive of documented corrective actions, to all assigned members of the BRS Sales Operations Team. The position will require coordination of training and information sharing for team members in multiple locations. Responsible for coordination, scheduling and managing of all training activities for new hires and ongoing continuous training sessions.
The role provides direct support to the Sales Team, specifically the Customer Experience Directors and National Account Managers, to escalate and resolve business critical issues. The Sales Operations Manager is responsible for delivering measurable results that achieve or exceed company objectives with respect to accurate data entry and maintenance. Delivering timely reporting that help drive decisions to ensure overall customer satisfaction. The SOM will execute and administer Bunzl directed LEAP documents per designated cadence for all direct reports. Additionally, the role works directly with all internal BRS departments (inventory management, sourcing, finance, etc) to drive all open issues to closure.
Responsibilities:
Be a role model for BRS’s company culture
Lead, manage, inspire and hold accountable all direct reports through regular touch bases and collaborative LEAP process
Develop, mentor, train and track the Sales Operations team providing appropriate documentation, direction and resources needed to support success
Document and deliver difficult performance correction notices
Manage internal escalations and customer communication during critical service failures, drive to conclusion with documented next steps and results
Provide oversight and establish priorities for team members in order to support desired outcomes
Monitor and re-allocate staffing resources as needed to support business needs
Design and maintain accuracy of on demand reporting per established process
Maintain and enforce BRS Processes including usage of all recommended software and tools per established criteria
Monitor team performance through regular data review: Open Orders Report, Backorder Reports, Missing LOB Report etc
Serve as SME on internal strategic initiatives that impact Sales Operations
Maintain file saving procedures and enforce procedures across team
Identify need for revisions to process and procedure and take action to revise as needed
Be a proactive liaison to other management team colleagues (BI, CEDA, Procurement, Sourcing, Sales, Production, Import Planning, Design Services, Accounting, etc.)
Effectively manage and assist Sales Operations Specialists with direct customer communications related to daily account activity (responsive, positive, polished, drive to closure, confirm customer is satisfied with outcomes, etc.)
Resolve escalated open issues to conclusion, provide updates to the client daily until issue is resolved
Proactively enforce maintaining accuracy in all relevant data sets
Lead team meetings and customer meetings (as needed)
Schedule and lead internal meetings with NAMs for direct reports
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree Preferred
A minimum of 5 years of management experience related to running an account management team
Retail or supply chain industry experience a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form with management, internal and external customers.
