The Infrastructure Solutions Group Channel Solution Architect is a Sales Engineer responsible for driving field channel sales for Lenovo's ISG product line as part of the Lenovo channel field sales team. The candidate will create and nurture relationships at the partner level. Their skills should be exceptional in the following areas:

  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain trusted relationships within the business partner network, spanning from technical users to C-suite executives.

  • Account Integration: Integrate closely within the partner account to influence Lenovo's technical account strategy and day-to-day operations.

  • Market Influence: Influence partner account management and department leads to enhance Lenovo's mindshare and market presence.

  • Best Practices Dissemination: Share Lenovo best practices on technical tools and processes to architect solutions for the Infrastructure Solutions Group, leveraging Lenovo's portfolio of products and partnerships.

  • Solution Configuration: Drive partner activities to achieve complete and fully accessorized solution configurations, including demos and interoperability to meet client solution needs.

  • Sales Support: Drive and support sales objectives to meet or exceed bookings and revenue targets.

  • Proposal Response: Enable and collaborate with channel partner to technically assist in the response of proposal requests.

  • Evaluation Management: Manage the success of partner/customer proof of concept and proof of technology evaluations.

  • Post-Sales Support: Assist partners to ensure successful deployment of solutions post-purchase, providing the highest level of customer experience in challenging post-sales situations.

Further, we are seeking strong individuals who can excel in the following areas:

  • Technical Solution Translation: Skillfully translate customer Data Center needs into technical solutions to create future-proof Lenovo ISG solutions.

  • Business Transformation Approach: Demonstrate a business transformation and solution-selling approach, effectively aligning technical solutions with business goals.

  • Articulation of Lenovo Vision: Understand and clearly communicate Lenovo’s vision, strategy, and architectural approach across various Data Center solutions, including HyperConverged, Software Defined Infrastructure, Big Data and Analytics, IoT, Edge Computing, AI/ML, Virtualization, Storage, and HPC.

  • Lenovo Messaging and Engagement: Establish, articulate, and disseminate the benefits and engagement process of Lenovo ThinkAgile platforms (HX, VX, MX) and Lenovo OnDemand solutions.

  • Software Alliance Solutions Proficiency: Demonstrate relevant proficiency with Lenovo software alliance solutions such as VMware, Microsoft, and Red Hat Linux to configure comprehensive solutions.

  • Industry Vertical Awareness: Be knowledgeable about solution approaches and perspectives for common industry verticals, including retail, healthcare, smart spaces, financial sector, and manufacturing.

  • Solution Sizing Practices: Utilize Lenovo ISG solution sizing practices and tools to design, architect, and create accurate bills of materials.

  • Collaboration with Partners: Work in partnership with alliance partners and regional sales teams to drive the solutions business effectively.

  • Innovative Sales Strategies: Pursue new strategies and technologies to enhance sales efforts and provide highly effective solutions for customers.

  • Distribution and Integration: Collaborate with distribution partners, integrators, and other go-to-market vendors in the territory to plan and execute Lenovo Data Center solutions sales plans.

  • Effective Sales Efforts: Continuously seek new strategies and technologies to make sales efforts highly effective for business partners and customers.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to drive the success of Lenovo's ISG solutions in various market segments.

Position Requirements:

Basic skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in a Sr. Sales Engineer role with a proven track record in leading and winning major server, networking, and/or storage business to Data Center clients

Preferred skills:

  • Excellent consultative selling skills: strong with written and verbal communications; strong with listening and adapting to client’s needs plus polished and adaptive presentation skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to drive technical collaboration across diverse customer and internal groups

  • Knowledge and experience with server and desktop virtualization, software defined solutions, cloud, storage, business continuity, systems management, and data center operations

  • Hands on experience with VMWare, Linux, Hyper-V, Windows Server, Nutanix, systems management products, and x86 systems

  • Working knowledge of Virtualization and Containers to include Orchestration and Automation.

  • Knowledge of OpenStack, SAP, HPC, SQL, Azure, NetApp storage

  • Knowledge and experience with x86 servers from IBM & Lenovo considered a bonus attribute

  • Ability to present and differentiate Data Center technology products

  • Ability to drive technological conversations as well to validate opportunities for technical merit

  • Ability to work effectively within a sales team as shown via effective team communication and executing on assigned technical tasks

  • Ability to provide pre-sales / POC assistance in their efforts to implement products and solutions

  • Candidate can reside and be based within or near (50 miles) of Chicago, IL with ability to travel up to 60% of the time in support of primary and secondary NA (US and Canada) office locations

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $138,000- $185,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
