Atlantic Health System Maintenance Mechanic I in Morristown, New Jersey
Atlantic Health System (AHSIC) is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Mechanic. Required hours can vary around: 8:00AM - 4:00PM including on-call (nights/weekends twice a month) and weekends (twice a month or as needed).
Essential Functions:
Prepare apartments for rental and renewal which includes cleaning and painting of apartments.
Perform basic maintenance of apartment properties including, but not limited to, clean out sink drains, check and replace smoke detector batteries, replace HVAC filters, replace refrigerators and stoves, replacing outdoor light bulbs and other basic repairs as needed.
Responsible for keeping the common grounds of apartments and offices clean including mowing of the lawns and leaf removal.
Removal and clearing of ice and snow.
Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and facilitate move-in and move out procedures, respond to lock-outs, show apartments to prospective tenants, meet vendors and contractors and facilitate contractor activities at the complex.
May be required to respond to after hour maintenance requests.
Keep maintenance records as set forth by the On-Site Manager.
Other duties deemed necessary by On-Site Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Must possess a valid/active NJ driver’s license.
Must possess good communication skills and be able to follow instructions.
To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
Required to work longer shifts in the winter for snow and ice removal and in June and July for preparation of apartments for medical resident turnover.
Must be able to bend, lift, push, pull and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Relevant Experience:
- Previous maintenance/facilities experience preferred.
