Morris Hospital PHLEBOTOMIST in Morris, Illinois
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Performs a limited number of laboratory analysis and quality control testing following clearly defined preset criteria. Performs venipunctures, micro-collection, blood, specimen collection on inpatients and outpatients. Performs certain clerical and housekeeping functions within the lab. Drug Screen and BAT's.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational
High school diploma or equivalent.
Training and experience; PBT (ASCP), or eligible preferred. Otherwise, on the job training.
Position knowledge: must be able to perform venipunctures with a high degree of proficiency and micro-sample collection; must be able to perform simple analysis of a repetitive nature following a predetermined procedure; must be able to communicate test results to personnel within and outside the laboratory; must be able to work independently most of the time.
Clerical duties include working with computers, FAX machines, telephones.
DCFS Mandated Reporter Certification of Completion required.

Ability to follow directions accurately.
Has the ability to work very closely with all laboratory employees, patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital employees.
Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
