Assists the Pharmacy Delivery Services Manager and other department leaders in daily operational and logistical tasks for medication deliveries. In addition to the duties of a courier, the Lead will be responsible for attending meetings, completing work schedules, assisting with fleet maintenance, and assisting operations staff as needed in the absence of their manager. Assists supervisor with building and creating workflows and training tip sheets in the delivery routing system, Samsara.
All couriers are required to provide timely delivery of prescriptions in an accurate, courteous manner to WVU Medicine patients and Staff, while adhering to prescribed transportation criteria and Pharmacy policies. In addition, the Lead will deliver reports and supplies to clients and will adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The lead should be willing to work as part of the delivery team in order to ensure that items are complete, packed correctly and delivered safely to the correct patient.
The Lead Courier performs a wide range of technical functions in support of pharmacy operations in those aspects that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. Functions in accordance with established guidelines under the direct supervision of the pharmacist. Last, they assist with all courier related issues and new hire training when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Possess a Valid Driver's License. EXPERIENCE: 1. Three (3) years of courier experience.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: 1. Two (2) years of pharmacy courier experience or other healthcare related experience. 2. One (1) years of experience working with hospital related systems management.
