Description The Teaching and Learning Center at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an Education Developer/Faculty Developer, Liberal Arts Focus. The WVU Teaching and Learning Center is seeking an Educational / Faculty Developer to serve as a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) leader. The ideal candidate should have a strong focus on developing faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants within the Liberal Arts academic disciplines. This position is on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Please note that we are conducting two searches: 1) Educational Developer / Faculty Developer - STEM Focus (requisition #25149); and 2) Educational Developer / Faculty Developer - Liberal Arts Focus (requisition #25148). Applicants demonstrating evidence of effective educational development service to both STEM and Liberal Arts academic disciplines are encouraged to apply for both positions. These opportunities are being conducted as two separate searches with two separate search committees. About the Opportunity The Educational Developer - Liberal Arts Focus will be responsible for serving those who teach within the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Applied Human Sciences, the College of Creative Arts and Media, the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, and those teaching in other schools and colleges throughout the university. Reporting to the Administrative Director of the Teaching and Learning Center, Educational Developers plan and facilitate event programming such as workshops, faculty learning communities, multi-day signature programs, and orientations. The Teaching and Learning Center provides a range of support services, including one-on-one consultations with Educational Developers, small groups facilitated by Educational Developers, and support in the peer review of teaching. Educational Developers also work with faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants to provide support and encourage the development and dissemination of SoTL projects. Responsibilities of Educational Developers include: 10% Teaching (3 credit hours in-load per year); 10% Scholarship (peer reviewed publications and conference presentations); 80% Service (e.g., internal service to the Teaching and Learning Center and WVU community); external service to the profession).
