West Virginia Employer Designer V / Engineer II in Morgantown, West Virginia

The Designer V / Engineer II will work within a project team to generate construction and permit plans for oil and gas clients, residential, retail, or commercial clients. This individual will be the CADD design lead on development of plans, permit packages, specifications, and reports as assigned by the client leader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reviews projects and approvals to ensure completion within timelines, Makes advanced design decisions but refers non-typical and difficult questions/problems to their supervisor, Conducts advanced designs of all aspects of project development under the direction of their supervisor, Reviews plans, details, specifications, and other documentation as requested by their supervisor, Prepares exhibits, applications, dimensional drawings, and details for permitting and construction, Completes advanced designs as related to CAD layout of the project under the direction of their supervisor, Completes intermediate design decisions for Hydrology & Hydraulic design of the project under direct supervision of their supervisor, Revises and updates permit or construction deliverables reflecting design changes in collaboration with client request and agency comments maintaining all revisions of project drawings, Operates within schedule and hourly budget for the assigned engineering tasks, Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages, Assist with training of new hires and/or interns and mentors other designers and drafters, Acts as team lead of CAD Technicians / Designers on projects and report progress and performance to their supervisor, Provides project status reports to their supervisor, Meets utilization goal. Education and/or Experience: Associate degree or certificate in engineering, engineering technology, drafting technology or bachelor degree in engineering, landscape architecture or related field. Requires a minimum of eight years of drafting experience or two years of engineering experience. Advanced level use of software including but not limited to: HydroCAD, MicroStation/InRoads, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and Intermediate level of experience with TR-55, TR-20, HEC and other applicable design software commonly used. Advanced proficiency of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering and survey terminology as it applies. Possess technical aptitude with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations related to civil engineering and survey as it applies.
