Description West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for a Clinical Research Specialist with the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) About the Opportunity The Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Clinical Research Specialist for the translational clinical trials team. The Institute has numerous unique clinical trials involving several first in human studies. Current research includes the role of MR guided focused ultrasound, transcranial magnetic stimulation, deep brain stimulation and blood-brain-barrier disruption in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, tremor, substance use disorder, dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders. The Institute is poised with numerous global collaborators to share and exchange data and to address larger populations of clinical trials. As a Clinical Research Specialist, you will drive progress with the multidisciplinary WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute's Innovation Center team. You will be part of an exciting collaborative effort at an R1 institution working towards innovative solutions to advance the science around optimizing brain health. In this role, your efforts will provide research support related to neuroimaging to the multidisciplinary scientific team in order to advance rapidly evolving work of a four year old Institute which has seen exponential growth in publications, grants, and IP for work that provide a foundation to improve lives of people in West Virginia and around the globe. This position will advance the research and development missions of West Virginia University by providing the necessary scientific and technical skills related to several research projects that are essential to the research activities of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. What you'll do: Protocol Compliance: Facilitates compliance with the requirements of the research protocol and good clinical research practice while remaining cognizant of the needs of diverse patient populations. A. Identifies the requirements of various types and phases of clinical trials, including objectives, sample sizes, and patient care needs. B. Identifies sources for and facilitates adherence to current regulations, guidance, and policies that affect research at the institutional, state, federal, and international levels. C. Promotes compliance with the varied processes and procedures required by different types of sponsors (e.g., private industry, National Institute of Health, investigator initiated). D. Protects patient, protocol, and scientific confidentiality by ensuring security of research data and personal health information. E.
