Description The Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Behavioral Health Therapist. Wellness programs What you'll do: Provide multiculturally-sensitive brief counseling (virtual and in person) for individuals with diverse presenting concerns. Provide clinical services including, but not limited to, assessment, treatment planning, short-term counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation, and case management. Provide clinical services both in-person and through telehealth platforms. Conduct comprehensive intake evaluations, triage, and participate in CCPPS's crisis intervention services, crisis clinic, and after-hours crisis coverage (initial responses and crisis stabilization provided by ProtoCall staff). Administer and document risk assessments and risk reduction interventions. Provide consultation and outreach to clients and their families, WVU faculty/staff, and the university community. Complete required documentation in an electronic health record system and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring and management of student treatment compliance (i.e., missed appointments, cancellations, etc.) in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations. Attend case conference, committees, task forces, and other meetings related to the mission of the Center and the university. Provide clinical supervision to trainees and facilitate seminars on a variety of clinical or professional topics. Serve as a liaison to various campus stakeholders and ensure that students, faculty and staff are provided with timely information regarding CCPPS and student mental health concerns and resources. Qualifications MA, MS, in social work (MSW), counseling, clinical/counseling psychology, or related field. Completed master's level practicum/internship or related work experience in providing outpatient counseling to students or a young adult population.
