Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of production operations, including the operation of machinery such as shear, crusher, wheelabrator, sorting equipment, washer-dryer, blending, and briquetting press. The candidate will assist with maintenance and repair of machinery, operate forklifts and other equipment, and ensure a clean and orderly work area while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, run, and troubleshoot machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Assist with maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

  • Operate and perform preventative checks on forklifts, front-end loaders, and other equipment.

  • Perform clean-up operations in all areas of the facility.

  • Complete work assignments in accordance with production requirements.

  • Become proficient in the use of mobile computers.

  • Complete all necessary paperwork and terminal input accurately.

  • Train in fire prevention and firefighting techniques.

  • Communicate necessary information to relief employees regarding equipment, materials, and safety concerns.

  • Evaluate work area and equipment at the beginning and end of shift to ensure safety.

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

  • Work efficiently to meet or exceed throughput and productivity requirements.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

  • Communicate safety, quality, or equipment concerns to supervisors.

  • Cross-train in other operations as needed.

  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide suggestions for process improvements.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce yield loss and eliminate waste.

  • Support operations in the melt shops and powder production.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read a tape measure.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Strong focus on safety for self and others.

  • Forklift experience.

  • Background in heavy manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, machine operation, shears, metal cutting, and blending.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Dependability and punctuality.

  • Commitment to quality and productivity standards.

  • Observation of safety and security procedures.

  • High school graduate or equivalency required.

  • Additional college or technical schooling or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Strong learning aptitude.

We provide two different BCBS plans (HSA and PPO), with a $1000 annual deposit into the HSA account. Our 401k plan includes a 50% match up to 7%, capping at 3.5%. Work Environment

The work environment is a heavy industrial setting with a strong focus on safety. Most positions are on the 2nd shift, with training on either the 1st or 3rd shift. Employees should be prepared to work in a physically demanding environment, adhere to safety protocols, and contribute to maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morgantown, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.30 - $25.30/hr.
