The Engineering supervisor will lead day-to-day activities of a team of project engineers to provide engineering upgrade project deliverables and manufacturing instructions to support Flowserve’s North American Pump Aftermarket.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
2+ year of supervisor experience
Strong leadership and talent development skills
Demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal, writing, listening)
2D and 3D design experience (preferably Computer-Aided Design)
Engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Collaborative interpersonal skills
Track record of project management: work scope and responsibilities, schedules, resources, corrective actions, and reporting
Accountability and execution for completing work timely and to specifications
Computer skills in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Office
Experience with PLM, ERP, and other planning and engineering systems.
Machine Design Fundamentals
Fundamental understanding of pump applications and types, a clear understanding of hydraulic fundamentals and how these relate to pumps and pump systems
General knowledge of metallurgical requirements & applications
General knowledge of manufacturing processes
Able to interpret industry standards, technical drawings and manufacturing procedures
Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology understanding
Possess financial acumen to discuss financial principles in relation to technical decisions
Experience in working to established processes and developing new processes
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Provides tactical advice and guidance to manufacturing and suppliers regarding deviations and waivers to specifications
Ensure that data is maintained in engineering systems; process engineering change notices; submit corrective action recommendations; and maintain current, accurate, and organized files.
Work with other aftermarket engineers to investigate production problems relating to design or quality. Report findings and implement permanent improvements and solutions.
Provide technical guidance and support for new customer proposals.
Ensure that the team maintains a high level of engineering performance and technical knowledge through coaching and training.
Conduct company-required supervisory tasks, including recruiting and hiring of new engineers, conduct performance appraisals, responding to poor performance and conduct, planning and providing promotions and salary increases, and giving rewards. Supervises at least 5 employees.
