CAE USA INC Business Systems and Application Support Technologist Intermediate in Moose Jaw, Canada

The role we are offering you:

Critical application support

  • Provide day to day database and application related support to end users.

  • Writing and utilizing SQL scripts, Database Reports, CMD files, Shell and Visual Basic scripts and other commonly utilized programming languages.

  • Liaise with application vendors while troubleshooting issues on behalf of end users.

  • Assists the Business Systems and Application Support team with implementation of system applications and related updates/upgrades.

  • In Application Maintenance add Bug fixing and modifications to existing applications when required.

Business/process improvement support

  • Support the gathering, understand and document business requirements ensuring that the end result fulfils the stakeholders’ needs.

  • Participate as a project team member and provide expertise and governance where required with respect to the tasks under their responsibility.

  • Develop or assist others in the development of documentation, process mapping, business cases, justifications and project related documentation.

  • Support the design of test cases and scenarios.

  • Execution of test cases.

  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues as related to the business knowledge and business processes

Database Administration and Support

  • Support the management of critical application databases;

  • Database server installation and creation.

  • Database backup and recovery.

  • User management.

  • Writing and utilizing SQL scripts, application and database reports, CMD files, Shell and Visual Basic scripts and other commonly utilized programming languages.

  • Liaise with vendors while troubleshooting issues on behalf of end users.

  • Support the planning and implementation platform related updates/upgrades.

  • Support the execution of patches, updates and upgrade.

    Our ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience, including intermediate to advanced level of SQL Skills

  • Technical certifications from a recognized Information Technology institute

  • Understanding of Business Analyst skillsets

  • Understanding of Project Management Concepts

  • Understanding of Process Mapping Concepts

  • Understanding of Problem Solving Concepts

  • Strong Technical Writing and research skills

  • Ability to draw out information and understand end user needs

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time

  • Ability focus for long periods of time
