DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for a Federal Planner who will join experienced planners, landscape architects, and project managers dedicated to having a positive impact through effective planning. The ideal candidate will be driven, intellectually curious, committed to excellence, and demonstrate a desire to make a difference in the communities we serve.
This person will be the main project planner on planning projects for Federal/Military clients (primarily Army, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force) and other State and Local Government Clients. They will develop comprehensive planning documents.
This role requires strong analytical skills and real property expertise.
This role requires U.S. Citizenship.
*THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTE, IN-PERSON (MOON TOWNSHIP), OR HYBRID; PLEASE NOTE FOR REMOTE THAT PERIODIC ON-SITE TRAVEL TO CLIENT SITES IS REQUIRED. *
The Federal Planner's responsibilities: * Analyze and interpret the impact of military doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, and personnel on facilities requirements. * Identify and develop courses of action to address or mitigate facility imbalances. * Facilitate planning charrettes for Federal/Military clients as both a lead facilitator and as a member of a facilitation team. * Act as liaison between government agencies and other organizations in developing analyses and plans. * Provide project updates, metrics, communication, and documentation to clients and collaborators. * Conduct field evaluations and assessments. * Apply knowledge of, and mentor others, in the use of Department of Defense Real Property business systems, such as RPLANS, GFEBS, HQIIS, ASIP, AIA, CPP, iNFADS, etc. * Prepare written reports to clearly communicate findings to clients. * Other duties as assigned.
The Federal Planner should possess: * Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and communicating planning reports and projects. * Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams. * Understanding planning principles and standard methodologies, as well as techniques of planning. * Knowledge of space planning and facility utilization surveys. * Ability to conduct research and prepare statistical planning reports on land use, physical, social & economic possibilities, and constraints. * Previous experience and appropriate training in implementing planning techniques to establish both long-term and short-term plans for space utilization.
Professional requirements * U.S. Citizenship * Minimum 3 years of related experience; 5 - 7 years of experience preferred. * Four-year degree in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, GIS/Geography, or a related field. * AICP or PMP preferred. * Knowledge of military (primarily Army, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force) master planning and real property management preferred. * Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). * Moderate travel required (10-25%).
Compensation The salary range for this position is $82,326-$118,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
