Summary: Supervise the daily activities of the 2^nd^shift(M-Th 3:30 pm to 2 am)production processes and personnel to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Serve as working leader by filling in for all production roles as needed to facilitate attainment of daily production goals. Build on supportive team culture to achieve company goals. Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. Identify problems related to production processes and troubleshoots to ensure continuity of production. Communicate operating information/concerns to personnel on both shifts. Responsible for all associated documentation.
Essential job functions:
- 40%Supervise daily activities of 2^nd^shift personnel in the manufacturing facility by managing workflow, delegating job duties, and managing and communicating job performance and accountability. Ensure adequate staffing levels for production each evening and develop plans when personnel are absent.
- 30%Make decisions on issues to ensure continuity of production. Serve as key onsite leader for 2^nd^shift and work to solve problems and minimize nighttime escalation to offsite leaders. However, also must know when to escalate and ensure critical issues are communicated to AVP Operations or SVP Manufacturing when necessary. When this occurs, the leader is responsible for researching issues and providing clear feedback on what is occurring to provide adequate details to offsite leadership.
- 20%Fill in for all production roles as needed to facilitate the attainment of production goals. Must be willing to run a machine, physically input raw materials into production (including moving 20 120-pound bales of tea using lift assist), run the robots, drive a forklift, etc., to accomplish production goals.
- 10%Responsible for ensuring all production processes and procedure guidelines are maintained. Must be able to see issues at a macro and micro level to ensure volume needs are given priority while also making certain food safety/quality assurance receives full support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong leadership skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years job-related manufacturing experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
Physical Requirement: Among the physical requirements for this job, qualified applicants must be able to lift or exert force by pushing or pulling up to 75 pounds.
