Job Title: Plumbing Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Mechanic to direct the installation of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures. This individual will be responsible for planning, laying out, participating in, and supervising plumbing work on job sites and in the shop. The role requires considerable independence, except on large construction and modification projects where some technical supervision is provided. Maintenance and repair assignments are received through Teams Construction software, written job requests, or emergency calls. Work is reviewed by users of equipment and systems through observation and conferences during and upon completion of projects. Construction and remodeling work is reviewed for compliance with specifications and building codes. The position operates under the general direction and supervision of leads on site.
Responsibilities
Direct the installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures.
Plan, lay out, participate in, and supervise plumbing work on job sites and in the shop.
Receive and manage work assignments for maintenance and repair through Teams Construction software, written job requests, or emergency calls.
Ensure compliance with specifications and building codes during construction and remodeling projects.
Analyze defects in plumbing equipment and determine necessary repairs.
Read and interpret blueprints, rough plans, sketches, drawings, and broken parts to lay out work.
Oversee helpers and junior mechanics in running storm or sanitary systems.
Work with water and temporary water lines.
Lay out and mark plumbing work areas.
Essential Skills
Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of the plumbing trade.
Ability to analyze defects in plumbing equipment and determine necessary repairs.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, rough plans, sketches, drawings, and broken parts.
Experience with cast iron plumbing systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in running storm or sanitary systems with helpers.
Ability to work with water and temporary water lines.
Skills in laying out and marking plumbing work areas.

Work Environment
We are looking for a plumbing foreman, mechanics, and junior mechanics to join our team in Parsippany, NJ. The work environment includes a variety of construction projects, mainly in warehouses, logistical centers, and new constructions. The team works under the general direction and supervision of site leads, ensuring compliance with specifications and building codes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montville, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $37.00
