Accounting Manager

A client of ours is looking for an Accounting Manager for a contract role. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with leadership, oversee financial operations, and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.

Responsibilities of Accounting Manager

  • Lead financial planning and business modeling, partnering with leadership to drive business initiatives.

  • Manage working capital and collaborate with financial institutions to meet funding requirements.

  • Prepare business forecasts, P& L, cash flow, and balance sheets, particularly for future funding rounds.

  • Perform revenue accounting in accordance with ASC 606 and provide detailed monthly analysis.

  • Oversee annual budget preparation and track actual performance against budgeted revenue and expenditures.

  • Process accounts receivable and payable, and issue vendor payments.

  • Handle tax filings, including direct tax and sales/use tax compliance.

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements following US GAAP.

  • Develop and improve department controls, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ensure effective payroll processing, including compliance with payroll regulations.

  • Complete month-end and year-end reporting accurately and on time.

  • Analyze financial data and generate reports for management, stakeholders, and external entities.

  • Collaborate with tax consultants to prepare tax-basis financials for partner equity and reconcile GAAP and tax-basis financials.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and support audits and reconciliations.

  • Assist other departments in financial strategy and decision-making processes.

    Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Accounting Manager

  • Proven experience in FP& A, controllership, and cross-functional management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred).

  • 5+ years accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • In-depth understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.

  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office, and financial analysis.

  • High attention to detail, analytical skills, and data accuracy.

  • Commitment to regulatory compliance and financial best practices
