About This Role
CAE's immersive environment department is a highly technological department that is at the heart of the experience of pilot’s training, both in civil aviation or defense and security. Imagine, a team in charge of complete immersion in the environment: from display solutions, through mixed reality, content creation and visual rendering, generation of sound effects and simulator movements, as well as development artificial intelligence of other "players" in military simulation scenarios. That's who we are.
Come and work within our multidisciplinary team where you will be called upon to evaluate projector, lenses and screen technologies in order to design complete visualization solutions for flight simulators.

The position we offer you:
You will be responsible for researching and designing the display system solution and evaluating its performance. You will act as an expert consultant for the teams that integrate our products, both internally and externally. Of course, you will work in collaboration with the senior members of the team and you will be called upon to improve and develop our optical modeling software.
The enthusiast candidate we are looking for:
Likes working in the optical world, facing challenges to solve
Possesses advance knowledge of mathematical or optical modeling tools (Zemax, OSLO, Matlab, Blender, TracePro)
Has basic 3D modeling experience
Is knowledgeable in applied scientific programming
Has a good capacity in hardware integration (eg: 3D scanner, theodolite, sensor, camera, etc.) to validate concepts on our simulators and in the laboratory
University studies in physics/mechanics or equivalent experience
Bilingualism (French/English)
Availability to travel (up to 20%)
Assets:
Familiar with modern display technologies (lenses, cameras, screens, projectors, calibration tools, video interfaces)
Knowledge of virtual and augmented reality
Knowledge of photolithography processes
Experience/knowledge in lens design
