CAE USA INC Obsolescence Management Specialist in Montreal (St. Laurent), Canada

About This Role

We are looking for an Obsolescence Management Specialist who will be responsible for analyzing, supporting and managing the functional requirements of our organization's reactive and proactive obsolescence management.

Reporting to the Hardware Engineering department, the main tasks of the Obsolescence Management Specialist would include but not be limited to:

  • Providing support to various departments throughout CAE (Hardware Engineering, D&S, Aftermarket, Product Management, Planning, Manufacturing) with their obsolescence inquiries and tasks, such as creating watchlists and submitting reports for programs or specific parts.

  • Maintaining proper obsolescence documentation and updating obsolescence databases (ex. OMS and AVCOM).

  • Meeting with stakeholders to understand their obsolescence management needs.

  • Analyzing the functional requirements of the internal obsolescence management system, including identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitoring parts through various databases (ex. IHS and AVCOM) and reporting any changes of obsolescence state or other risk.

  • Training users on how to use the Obsolescence Management System.

  • Performing all duties in complete compliance with all legal & ethical standards and while keeping proprietary information safe.​

    • Please note that this role requires a presence on site 3 times a week.
Our ideal candidate has:

  • A diploma in electronics, or in a related technical field.

  • A minimum of 3 years experience with obsolescence management and obsolescence watch.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).

  • Knowledge of PowerBI (an asset).

  • Experience with process improvement (an asset)

  • The ability to work autonomously.

  • Ability to obtain Controlled Goods Canada and ITAR security clearance.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
