Created in 2015 to align, lighten and modernize infrastructure, the Technology and Infrastructure (T&I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your role

As a member of the T&I Governance and Engineering PMO, you will, working with a Senior Project Manager and/or Director, lead projects of moderate complexity and/or components of more complex projects and programs.

You have skills and interest in leadership and communication, and will have PM accountability for projects of moderate complexity and scale or components of projects / programs of large complexity and scale. You are comfortable interacting with delivery groups and other stakeholders at the individual contributor and management levels, to coordinate work, track progress, communicate status, and manage risks and issues. You have solid project management skills and an understanding of what is involved in projects that involve the acquisition, customization, configuration, validation, integration, and transition of business application or infrastructure systems. You use a PMI-based approach, methodologies and documentation for the projects you lead and have an understanding of what is involved in working with 3rd party solution providers and internal teams of users, analysts, developers, testers, including customer groups.

The opportunity

CBC/Radio-Canada has several projects that will impact multiple stakeholder groups, systems, and data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Working with or based on guidance from the Director or Senior Project Manager level, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Project Manager on large-scale projects, which may include work across project components, at the project/program office level, or at the project component level. You may also be asked to lead projects of moderate to large complexity and scale. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Project / Project Component

  • Plan the Project / Project Component

  • Organize the Project / Project Component

  • Execute, Monitor & Control the Project / Project Component

  • Close Project / Project Component

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in project/program management.

  • Experienced / familiar with traditional / waterfall, Agile, and hybrid project methodologies and best practices

  • Hold or actively working toward PMP certification or equivalent.

  • Functionally bilingual (English/French).

  • Strong leadership skills: positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.

  • Strong communication skills: speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques that are appropriate for the audience, situation, and desired outcome.

  • Experienced/familiar with risk and issue management in a project context, including analysis, assessment, building consensus, mitigations, and responses.

  • Dynamic, collaborative, team-oriented, results-driven.

  • Experience in delivering IT/technology projects - a strong asset.

  • Good understanding of Jira or similar tool - a strong asset.
