DESCRIPTION OF WORK Your role will involve utilizing engineering judgment to review and make recommendations for new project proposals, including assessing the scope of work, work breakdown structures, and cost/work-hour estimates for preliminary and final agreements. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting engineering hydraulic studies for projects within the current county M213 program, applying your knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and codes. Another aspect of your job will be to prepare scope of work and preliminary cost estimates for betterments and 711 maintenance contracts, ensuring that they are completed by the specified due dates. You will also be required to conduct field surveys using various equipment to gather necessary information for maintenance teams, providing them with guidance and details for constructing pipe replacements and slope repairs. Furthermore, you will be responsible for conducting quality assurance reviews on maintenance pipe replacement projects to ensure compliance with current PennDOT standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. This posting is restricted to Department of Transportation employees only. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title); or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; or Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid driver's license. Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. This position is subject to the promotion provisions of a collective ba gaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
