Robert Half Bookkeeper in Montgomery, Minnesota

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in the Tax Consulting industry, based in Montgomery, Minnesota. This role involves a range of tasks, including managing payroll, general accounting duties, and preparing income tax returns.

Responsibilities:

• Processing payroll and creating paychecks

• Managing tax liabilities and understanding associated requirements

• Filing quarterly and annual payroll reports for various types of businesses

• Conducting monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit cards

• Establishing and maintaining client charts of accounts to facilitate accurate financial statements

• Making necessary month-end closing entries

• Preparing and delivering monthly financial statements to clients

• Meeting with clients and preparing returns based on their information, both personal and business returns

• Preparing returns from information that is dropped off, mailed in, or sent electronically

• Communicating with clients about details, missing information, and results

• Checking data entry for returns

Skills:

• Proficiency in Bookkeeping and Bookkeeping Functions

• Experience in Payroll processing including multi-state payroll and payroll reconciliation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks Online

• Knowledge of Corporate Income Tax Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of bookkeeping.

• Proficient in bookkeeping functions such as maintaining records of financial transactions, balancing books periodically, and verifying bank statements.

• Experience with payroll processing and reconciliation is necessary. This includes multi-state payroll, weekly payroll and the ability to effectively process payroll.

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must for data management and financial analysis.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online for managing financial data is required.

• Experience in handling corporate income tax, including preparation, analysis, and execution of payments.

• Must have a strong understanding of tax consulting industry standards and regulations.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interactions.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong collaborative skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
