National Institutes of Health Program Analyst in Montgomery County, Maryland

Summary Each day is different and exciting in the Patient Support Services Department (PSSD) of the NIH Clinical Center! The PSSD Department is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Program Analyst with experience working in a health care setting to add to their team. In this position, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data with the goal of identifying trends and areas of improvement for department operations and patient services. Join our team today! Responsibilities Establishing study methods and techniques to be utilized in studies and audits. Interpreting findings resulting from studies that are independently developed. Analyzing and evaluating, on a quantitative and/or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs or operations in meeting established goals, measures, and objectives. Recommending improvements to promote efficiency and cost savings. Developing various statistical tables and reports, or new or modified work meetings, management processes and procedures for administering program services, guidelines and procedures for program operations. Reviewing, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating financial, narrative, and statistical reports and program data. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for a Program Analyst, GS-0343 position at the GS-09 grade level, you must have: A. At least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: participating in studies and analyses of program operations; reviewing policies and procedures related to program operations; and gathering and organizing statistical information to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; OR B. Completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR C. A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position. In order to qualify for a Program Analyst, GS-0343 position at the GS-11 grade level, you must have: A. At least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: analyzing the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of conventional problems involving program operations; reviewing the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of financial and budgeting operations; gathering and organizing statistical information to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; and drafting recommendations for modifying, revising, or implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; OR B. Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related; OR C. A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.
